July 30, 2010

Resorts World Manila launched Newport Cinemas to the public last Wednesday. We are privileged to watch the special screening of Salt and experience firsthand how this cinema faired comparing to other cinemas here in Manila.

Here are some pictures courtesy of Taga-Ilog Special:

Newport Cinemas  showcase four state-of-the-art theatres equipped with the latest technology and first class service unique only to Newport Mall Cinemas.

Newport Cinemas 2 and 4 are conventional cinemas that make use of 35mm projection system that are high powered and used by world-caless theatres. Cinema 3 meanwhile boasts of state of the art nad latest 3D technology. It showcases a clearer image from every seat in the movie house. As the lights go down, the excitement will surely go up with the cinema’s Dolby DSS Server, Dolby DIgital 3D System and Dolvy Digital 3D Glasses. The 3D cinema uses the Christie Solaria CP2230 Digital Cinema Projector, the brightest digital cinema projector in the Christie Solaria series.

Newport Ultra Cinema 1 will give viewers the ultimate movie viewing experience this country has ever seen. Ultra Cinema 1 will have full 80 fully reclining seats with cubicle enclosed per par to attain utmost privacy. Each cubicle also has an addressable button to call ushers or butlers into their particular seats. Ticket prices for the Ultra Cinema will also include bottomless drinks and refillable popcorns delivered to each seat by bucket.

All four theatres also have two way surround system from JBL, which are high powered and have extended bass response. This sound system is the industry standard for extended dynamic range required by digital sound format. Tickets to Cinemas 2 and 3 are sold at P200 and P300 respectively.

The Newport Entertainment and Commercial Center includes four cinemas with a total of 1,200 seats and a multipurpose 1,030-seat performing arts theater. The ground floor of the development will be devoted to 22 international luxury brands. The second floor will be devoted to local and international dining options including an indoor piazza with a glass skyline.

The third floor will host specialty boutiques and serve as the lobby of the performing arts theater. It will also connect to the private, high-roller section of the casino. In addition, the fourth floor will host cinemas, amusement facilities and cafés.

The boutiques are still under construction but I’ve already seen Bench and The Body Shop up for some of the casino dwellers to visit. There is also Starbucks, The Red Crab and some high society restaurants opened.

when you are going to purchase tickets in advance make sure that you really are reserved. they have the worst tickets reservation. We reserved and paid for tickets weeks ago only to find out that they sold our paid tickets to someone else. Smart huh?? their excuse, they were not able to read their emails and someone forgot to call the ticket booth? HAH!! stupid!! You should all be fired!
